Been very busy since Mikayla's birthday. Since the big rain, Mike has been working crazy hours... 12- 16 hour shift, seven days a week. The last week has slowed down some. Before the flood, his crew was working on new convention center downtown. Since the flood things have gotten a little behind for the convention center so now is it catch-up time. Well, catch- up time for everyone except Mike. He has hurt his shoulder!! He had a MRI on Tuesday but will not know anything for sure until Friday. Thinking he will probably need to have surgery which is fine if the problem is fixed. The craziness of the situation is that recovery time is 8 weeks... well, we are having a baby in 10 weeks. I am having a c-section which has a recovery time(as far as picking up Mikayla) of about 3 weeks. This could be very interesting!!! Not to mention, we have done NOTHING on the nursery!! The room we are using for nursery is our current junk room... and when I say junk room that is not an exaggeration!! Luke's room will just have to stay a brown color which is fine... goes with his decor perfectly. It will all work out... just stresses me out a little. Things are definitely different for the second baby!!
I am done working now which makes it a little easier to work on things for the house... I guess it would help if I could get motivated to get to work in the junk room. Struggling with that motivation thing these days!!
Mikayla's last day of the first year of preschool is next week. She has really done a lot of changing this year. She has really come out of her shell socially. We are going to put her in summer "camp" two days a week this summer... hopefully that will give me a little alone time before having our addition. In the fall, we will add a day so she will go to preschool 3 days a week. Mondays, she will be going to the preschool in the elementary school here in Portland. Wednesdays and Fridays, she will be going where she is now. The school in Portland will be more for accessiblity training and the school she is in now is more for education. Hopefully that makes sense.
Mikayla is really getting excited about being a big sister!! She hugs and kisses my belly, talks to Luke, and says she loves him. Wonder how long the excitement will last once he gets here.
My c-section is scheduled for Friday, July 30th. So, unless Luke decides he wants to make an earlier apperance we will be having a baby that day!!
