Rice Cereal

Today Mikayla had cereal for the first time. She needs some additional calories in her diet. She did really well with it-- did not spit it back at mommy or anything. She made some funny faces but seemed to like it pretty well.

In case anyone was curious - Utah is no longer with us. She died about a month ago. I had her for about 10 years. I think I was the only one in the world that Utah liked- except for Mike during the last year.

Return of Pootie

Since her return - she follows Duke around everywhere. This was today in the garage. Before she left when Duke was around she would run - now she can't get close enough. It drives Duke crazy.Pootie has returned!!!! After Mikayla came home Pootie and Utah went to live in the garage. Pootie ran away for about a month and a half, but about 2 weeks ago she came back--VERY skinny. We just knew that she had been taken in by another family but by the looks of her she had not been eating.

Mikayla's Dedication

Mikayla was dedicated at church this morning. It was a very special day. We got to be on stage during both services and Mikayla was on the big screen(Pastor DJ made a video of pictures to music)(Thanks DJ!!!). We are truly blessed every day to have Mikayla in our lives. Hearing Pastor Dan tell Mikayla's story really reminds us of how blessed we actually have been. All the glory and praise to God!!!! Mikayla had a big crowd there for her today - she had two sets of Great-grandparents(one set all the way from PA), two sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends. She is one little girl that cannot ever doubt how much she is loved.

Mikayla also went to a restaurant for the first time Saturday night - Longhorn in Gallatin. She did great- just looked around at all the lights and stuff on the wall. Then, today we went to Cracker Barrel after church- there she just slept (too much excitement today).

I have include some pictures of today at church and just some other random pics.

Mikayla went to her first birthday party on Saturday. Lana Beth turned 1. It was also Mikayla's first time to go swimming. She loved it-- never cried once. We had to take her out after about 15 minutes each time she got in because her little mouth started quivering.

Mommy and Mikayla with Chapple and Avery Osborne at the birthday party-- Avery was born about a week after Mikayla.

Mikayla has been taking medicine that makes her mouth purple and she wanted to show it off.

I put Mikayla down on the couch and Duke decided to take a nap with her-- so cute!!!

Just hanging out at home--- She actually liked wearing the hat.

Mikayla watched her first fireworks show July 4th--- she really watched for about 10 minutes then she slept through the rest. Surprisingly, she was not scared by the noise at all.

Our lil' firecracker!!!!! We went for Mikayla's 2 month checkup on Friday. Can't believe she is now 9 weeks old-- time has really flown. Seems like she changes every day. At the doctor she weighed 7 lbs, 15 1/2 oz. Almost double her birth weight!! Everything went well with the doctor. Had her first round of shots. What a trooper -- she never cried, just squeezed Mommy a little tighter. I guess after major surgery shots are a breeze. She has started "talking" up a storm. She likes to be the center of attention and if she is not she reminds you she is there.
